Did you know…lionfish are breeding machines. Lionfish become sexually mature in the first year of life, and spawn approximately every four days throughout the year. One female alone can produce 2 millions eggs in a year. That means that one female and all her offspring (and their offspring) can produce 8.1 quintillion eggs in just three months! Just to give a visual, that’s 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 eggs. Wow.
